Seismic Design Review Webinars may be available in either Live or On-Demand formats. Presented by Steven T. Hiner, MS, SE, the webinars communicate the same materials and offer a similar learning experience to the Live Seminars without the stress of long commutes or the additional distractions of a classroom environment.
Each module includes nearly 6 hours of on-line lecture (two sessions approximately 3 hours each) which coincides with the five specific content areas of the Special Civil Seismic Principles Test Plan noted as follows:
The Live Webinars present one module in two sessions (two evenings) each week. About 30 hours total for all five modules. When offered, Live Webinar registrants can sign up for any or all of the modules listed above.
On-Demand Webinar users can purchase viewing time for the five modules, which were recorded during the February 2011 Live Webinar sessions, in 3 or 6 hour blocks of viewing time. Each module contains 2 videos of approximately 3 hours each. The entire On-Demand Webinar Library, all 5 modules (approximately 30 hours), can be purchased at a 17% discount.
The introduction video provides information about the SDR webinars, the SDR Workbook, gives tips on preparing for, and answers questions you may have regarding the upcoming California Special Seismic Principles exam.
It is strongly recommended that first time candidates of the California Civil PE Special Seismic Principles Examination attend/view all five webinars to best prepare for the seismic principles examination. A 17% discount is provided when registering for all five webinars.
Repeat candidates of the California Civil PE Special Seismic Principles Examination may prefer to attend/view only those modules (i.e., content areas) in which they received a “Deficient” or “Marginal” comment in their examination Diagnostic Report.
To participate in either the Live or On-Demand webinars you will need to obtain a copy of the Seismic Design Review Workbook, which can be ordered on the SDR Workbook page.

Use the following link to access your remaining time on previously purchased modules (you will need the login and password you obtained at time of purchase).
To view the on-demand videos you will need to have Microsoft’s Silverlight player installed on your system (either PC or Mac). If you do not have the player installed you can get it here.
DO NOT use the Silverlight "Pause" button to hold your place while viewing your content. Because Silverlight is streaming the content to your computer, the pause button, although it does pause the video, does not stop the stream or the counter keeping track of your viewing time (on either the PC or Mac). When you are not actively viewing the content, note the elapsed time on the video and close the player window completely. When you come back to view content: log in, choose your video and use the playhead to advance to the section of the video where you had stopped viewing previously.
