The following table shows the final examination results for the last 8 years of the California Special Seismic Principles Examination. To the right of the exam year is listed the percentage score that would have been needed to pass the exam for that particular year. The next two columns show the cut-off score (how many points out of the total that would need to be achieved) and the total points possible on the exam for that year. The next column shows the actual PELSG pass rate (excluding results from students who attended the Seismic Design Review Seminar). In the final column you can see the improved percentage passing of attendees in the Seismic Design Review Seminars (which over the past 8 years has about doubled your chances of passing the exam).

* PELSG pass rate statistics exclude those who attended the Seismic Design Review course. NOTE: As of the October 2009 exam, results are noted as “Pass” or “Fail” only and the cut score and total points are no longer provided. Examinees who fail are provided with a Diagnostic Report that indicates their performance level (i.e., Proficient, Marginal, or Deficient) in each of the five content areas of the Seismic Principles Test Plan. |
